I decided it was worth a chunk of my afternoon to just doodle my central character and let her speak and define herself.
I've given her a name, here, too, or rather she's volunnteered one. Not sure yet how I feel about her having one, but the fact that she's giving me that kind of feedback now is a good sign.

My editor, John Glynn, brought Scott Adams's "2 of 6" rule to my attention.
Executive summary: there are six basic things that make humor writing good, and a comic strip, or anything else with the aim of being funny, has to incorporate at least two of them.
I drew this, as a visual aid.
